I have been practicing as an individual therapist for the last 14 years. Since 2008 I have been specializing in working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and have formal training in utilizing exposure and response prevention therapy to treat OCD. I also specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to treat panic disorder, anxiety, depression, and stress related disorders.
I believe we are all inherently good at the core and we all have something valuable to offer this world. I believe we are all trying to live our life as our best selves and I work with you in therapy to help you achieve authenticity in yourself. I believe the greatest tool in therapy is holding space for our feelings and recognizing our feelings and how they impact us. Using MBSR and CBT we can begin to sit with and experience our feelings to help us incorporate tools to overcome our symptoms. We can begin to recognize how our thoughts shape our feelings and using CBT and MBSR we can begin to shift our thinking and ultimately shift the way we feel.
In our work together you will learn to identify triggers to your current symptoms. You will learn how your thoughts are influencing the way you feel both physically and mentally. Together we will build on the strengths already present in yourself to help you cope with and manage your current stress. I offer a safe and supportive environment for you to allow yourself to be vulnerable to explore your feelings and symptoms and figure how how to move through them.
